Clare's Independent TD is advising small businesses here to apply for a government scheme to help improve their online presence.

The Trading Online Scheme, which is operated through Local Entrerprise Offices, is particularly aimed at people running small traditional businesses with little or no online presence.
It's open to companies with 10 employees or less, with a turnover of less than 2 million euro, and provides a financial incentive of up to 2500 euro, along with training a mentoring.
Dr. Michael Harty says it's a very useful scheme, but admits broadband in rural areas must be improved in order for people to fully take advantage of it.
