14 workers shared almost half a million euro in compensation last year after being injured at Clare workplaces.
The total number of awards is one higher than the previous year, and with an average award here was just over thirty-five-thousand euro, this is considerably higher than the national average.
The statistics have been compiled by independent statutory body injuriesboard.ie. The group says the most common causes of workplace accidents were slips, trips and falls, defective equipment and poor lifting and handling of goods.
