It’s European Car Free Day and motorists around Clare are being advised to walk or cycle for a change.
Clare County Council is encouraging parents to try walking their children to school, and workers to consider leaving the car behind to try out more environmentally sustainable and healthy modes of transport.
The Council’s Road Safety officer Barry Keating admits it’s not always practical in rural parts of Clare, but he’s urging people to consider where walking and cycling could easily replace your car journey
