A Clare member of the Oireachtas Health Committee claims the timeline given by HIQA for its review of urgent and emergency care in the Midwest is “stretching it”.

The Health Information and Quality Authority has published the terms of reference for its review which it’s said will “inform decision-making around the design and delivery of urgent and emergency healthcare services” in this region.

A report of the review’s findings will be presented to the Health Minister next summer and subsequently published.

Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway believes an interim report should be made available within three to six months due to the gravity of the issues around Midwest healthcare.
