Urgent clarity is being sought from the Health Minister on the timeline of an impending review to determine if another emergency department is needed in the MidWest.
Minister Stephen Donnelly confirmed in May that a HIQA-led review would be conducted to consider the case for a second emergency department in the Midwest as well as other reforms.
The announcement came one week after an unannounced HIQA inspection found UHL to be non-compliant with three of four key safety standards.
