The Clare Public Participation Network is describing a landmark report on the impact of children living in direct provision as a scathing indictment of the state.

The report conducted by Children’s Ombudsman Dr Niall Muldoon has found that no vulnerability checks are being carried out on kids in the service and has called on the government to stop using B&Bs and Hotels as acommodation.

There are currently 850 International Protection Applicants in this county, across Ennis, Tulla, Meelick, Inch, Lisdoonvarna and Scariff.

Clare PPN Director , Sarah Clancy says an urgent focus is needed to help those who need it most.
