Clare psychiatric nurses want full publication of l;atest Cappahard Report

Clare psychiatric nurses are calling for full publication of a report into the care of an elderly patient at the Cappahard Lodge Nursing Home in Ennis for the good of staff and the deceased man’s family.

The review into the care of the late Gerald Finn from Kilrush followed complaints made by some of his family following his death in 2007, but found no evidence of sedation, poor treatment or inappropriate restraint as alleged.

Complaints were lodged by some members of the patient’s family who are now asking the ombudsman to review the case while other members publicly defended his care.
