Clare recorded an almost 10% rise in the cost of rents at the end of last year.
The latest Daft.ie report, which has been published today, shows the average monthly rent for a home in the county stands at just below €1,200.
The average rent for a property in Clare now stands at €1,191, according to Daft.ie’s rental property price report for the final quarter of 2022.
The largest price hike in this county has been in three-bedroom houses climbing to an average monthly rental price of €1,101, a 15% rise on last years figures.
Five bed houses were the only property type across Clare’s portfolio to see a fall in year on year rental costs, dropping marginally by 1% to €1,484 per month.
Meanwhile, the report shows a mortgage payment for a three-bedroom house is almost 50% cheaper than its rental cost.
A mortgage payment for such a property costs approximately €614 – a difference of over €500 on what it would cost to let.
The largest difference in buying or renting can be seen in one bedroom apartments in Clare.
It’s 47% cheaper to pay a mortgage on an apartment, that it would be for an individual or a couple to rent it.
There are currently 29 properties available to rent in the county.
