Clare Samaritans Calling For Mental Health Conversations To Be Normalized In All Environments

The Clare Samaritans branch are calling for greater awareness and understanding for victims of self harm.

The Charity recently conducted the Open Secret, Self Harm and Stigma study which showed that 50% of respondents would not rent to those who self harmed.

Meanwhile 80% of those surveyed felt they could not speak to their employer about self-harm due to fears of judgement.

Director of Clare Samaritans, Margaret McMahon says conversations on mental health need to be normalized in all environments.
