Clare Senator Deems Ambulance Wait Times In North Clare “Wholly Unacceptable”

A Clare senator believes it’s “wholly unacceptable” that it would take an ambulance over an hour to reach the Cliffs of Moher.

Senator Timmy Dooley has called for a discussion to take place around access to emergency services along Clare’s coast following another death at the popular tourist attraction last weekend.

Almost 200 incidents have taken place at the Cliffs across 2022 and 2023 – the majority of which were slips, trips and falls.

Speaking in the Seanad, Tulla Fianna Fáil Senator Dooley says some tragedies that have taken place over the years could have potentially been avoided if there was greater access to emergency services in the region.
