A Clare Fine Gael Senator has welcomed special exemptions for the property tax announced for people with disabilities.

Finance Minister Michael Noonan has confirmed that any rise in value as a result of improvements carried out to the homes of people with disabilities will be written off when calculating the property tax.
Senator Martin Conway, the Seanad’s spoeksman on Disability and Equality, says it’s a positive step.
