A prominent Clare solicitor believes it’s ‘untenable’ for employers not to allow time off to allow staff become vaccinated against Covid-19.
Tánaiste Leo Varadkar is calling for businesses to be ‘named and shamed’ amid numerous reports of workers being docked wages or forced to take holiday days to attend appointments during working hours.
Ennis-based solicitor Darragh Hassett says while he isn’t aware of any employers in Clare taking this stance, he’s warning that it’s a dangerous road to take.
He says if an employee was to take legal action, it would be an ‘open and shut’ case.
