Clare Taxi Drivers are calling on of the County’s general Election candidates to back a scheme whereby drivers can return their taxi plates and receive a rebate on fees.
They have welcomed the the withdrawal of a rule banning cars older than nine years from operating as taxis but warn that more work is needed to help drivers through current economic difficulties.
