Clare labour TD Michale Mc Namara is accusing Cardinal Sean Brady of misrepresenting the Government’s position on legislating for the X Case.
In his Christmas message yesterday, Cardinal Brady said the unborn have an equal right to life as mothers – and called on Catholics to make their voices heard to their TDs.
But Labour’s Michael McNamara says the Government will not introduce abortion on demand – and that the constitution does not set one life above another.
He also said that the risk of suicide must be a factor in any legislation.
