Clare TD Calls For Protections Against Mould In Rental Housing

A Clare Oireachtas member is calling for protections against mould in rental accommodation to be enshrined in law.

A recent survey conducted by Trinity College Dublin found that just under 50% of Irish people have experienced a problem with mould in their homes.

Under the Housing Standards for Rented Houses Regulations 2019, landlords must ensure their property doesn’t have damp, is structurally sound and every room is adequately ventilated with heating that tenants can control.
