Clare’s Senator believes that measures aimed at reforming the Department of Justice are badly needed.

It comes as The Taoiseach has begun his search for a new Tánaiste, with Simon Coveney tipped as favourite to take up the roll, while Ministers Paschal Donohoe and Heather Humphreys are also being considered.

Leo Varadkar has announced that a root and branch review of the Department of Justice is to be carried out after a fresh trawl of its email system revealed that information had been withheld from the Disclosures Tribunal.
