Clare's Fine Gael Senator believes his former Seanad colleague Tony Mulcahy could be in the mix to be one of the Taoiseach's nominations to the Upper House.
Martin Conway's comments come as Enda Kenny is to appoint his 11 Senators later today, which will allow the Seanad to sit for the first time, as early as next week.
Among those expected to be made Senators are TD's who lost seats in the general election, however long serviing public representatives like Mr. Mulcahy could also be considered.
Martin Conway says he'd be pleased to see the Shannon ex-Senator get a nomination.
