Clare County Council looks set to hear calls for it to change parts of its draft bye-laws for cemeteries and graveyards.
The document, a first-of-its-kind here, has been distributed to undertakers in recent days and includes one controversial proposal that new graves be 8ft deep.
However some say this is unworkable in areas of rocky land, and that it will add to the cost burden of families.
Further concerns have also been raised by some local representatives, including South-East Clare Fianna Fáil Councillor Cathal Crowe who feels more needs to be done to ensure accessibility.
