The government has awarded funding to Clare County Council to allow the local authority engage in upgrade works in Shannon.

A tender of just over 1 million euro, submitted by Glen Agua Ltd., will provide for significant Mechanical and Electrical upgrading works at four Pumping Stations on the scheme. The advance works will also provide additional capacity at the pumping stations.
The project is being funded under the Department’s Water Services Investment Programme 2010 – 2013 and Shannon Fine Gael Senator Tony Mulcahy says it will significantly expand the quality and scale of water and wastewater infrastructure in the town.
