Council Urged To Refuse Building Firm Permission To Use Old Sand Pit

Clare County Council is being called on to refuse permission for a major building firm to occupy an old sand pit in the Meelick area.

Roadstone Ltd is seeking permission to import excavated material into the crater at Woodcock Hill, which has been out of use for a number of years.

The area is remote, with narrow roads, and the firm plans on bringing in 40 trucks a day.
