Members of Clare County Council have clashed over a proposal aimed at cleaning up the county.
The proposal would have seen Clare residents allowed to recycle 5kg of waste free of charge at the county’s recycling centres.
However, it’s been blasted as ‘nonsense’ by Green Party councillor Brian Meaney, who says that there should be no charge on recycling.
Yet Fine Gael’s Johnny Flynn, who was one of those to propose the measure, says it does have it’s merits.
