Paid parking in Ennis is going plastic!
The town council has become the first local authority outside Dublin to introduce a cashless pay and display system which accepts credit cards.

Located at the Abbey Street Car Park, motorists have the option of using credit, debit and lazer cards – with no transaction fee- or they can still opt to pay in coin.
Its a pilot scheme which if proves sucessful here, will be rolled out nationwide – Ennis Town Clerk Leonard Cleary says the initiative is a response to public demand.
