Cree man back in court over Dublin murder

A West Clare man charged with the murder of a Dublin security guard in 2008 is due back in court today.

Chriostoir MacCarthaigh with an address at Leitrim Cree, Kilrush was charged with the murder of 35 year old David Whyte last week, over two years after his body was discovered with multiple stab wounds at a derelict cemetery in Palmerstown.

The 33 year old accused was arrested near Quilty last Tuesday and was brought before Dublin District Court where he remanded in custody to appear in court again later today.

Mr MacCarthaigh was represented in court through the Irish language and was granted legal aid and an Irish language interpretor for future court proceedings.
