A Cork woman who recently moved to Ennis is issuing a warning to other motorists in the county, following a major increase in her insurance costs.
Niamh’s policy is up for renewal at the end of the month and when ringing up her company, she informed them of her new address.
This led to the insurer informing her that her new policy would be more than €200 more expensive in Ennis than in Cork, despite no penalty points, no claims and no change of car.
She has since shopped around and found a cheaper quote but has been unable to match her initial renewal quote but says the treatment by her previous long-term insurer has been frustrating:
