Creative Vision Of Dromoland Legend To Be Fondly Remembered Over Coming Days

The Director of Golf at Dromoland Castle believes the second staging of the Irish Women’s Open at the venue, which gets underway today, will form a fitting tribute to the man who brought their masterpiece to life.

Ron Kirby, the architect who redesigned Dromoland’s course in 2002, passed away at the age of 90 on August 14th, just two weeks out from the event.

Ron played an integral role in the recent two million euro upgrade works carried out on the course, which involved major renovations on hole’s 9, 11,16 and 18.

 

Director of Golf , Eamonn O’Donnell says Dromoland’s success could not have been achieved without Ron’s immense contribution.
