Plans have been lodged to turn Cloister car park into permanent parking spaces in Ennis town centre.
The facility on Lower Abbey Street currently has permission to provide spaces before and after GAA matches at Cusack Park.
Documents seen by Clare FM show the Clare County Board has requested Clare County Council change Cloister’s permissions to ‘a commercial car park’ for long and short term use by members of the public.
It’s believed the local authority will take around 8 weeks to consider its decision.
