South East Clare Councilor Calls For Drones To Be Used To ‘Name And Shame’ Illegal Dumpers

A South East Clare councillor insists drone technology should be used to ‘name and shame’ illegal dumpers around the county.

Attempts are being made to give local authorities more power to install surveillance to tackle illegal dumping as concerns relating to GDPR have led to delays.

Fianna Fáil says its bill, allowing CCTV and drones, will help councils who have exhausted all other avenues.

Cratloe based Councillor, Pat O Gorman says the local authority here should be given the power to install technology to deter and prosecute illegal dumpers.
