Sport and physical activity in Clare has received a boost, following the announcement of more than 125,000 euro in funding through the Dormant Accounts Fund.
The funding is part of a total investment package of 7.3 million euro announced by Sport Ireland, for a wide range of sport and physical activity measures across the country.
The investment aims to engage with communities across the country, focusing on people with disabilities, people who are educationally disadvantaged and from disadvantaged communities.
A number of projects in Clare are set to benefit from the funding including a new community sports hub in Shannon, the Kilrush Community sports hub and an urban adventure hub in Ennis.
