Three of Clare’s piers are set to benefit from a share of a 3.1 million euro Government fund for the completion of repair works on harbours and slipways.

Minister for Agriculture and the Marine, Michael Creed has allocated 138,000 euro to Carrigaholt Pier, Bournapeaka Pier in Ballyvaughan and Ballyvaughan Pier to complete works which have been underway since 2014.

Clare’s Fine Gael senator believes the allocation will compliment the amount already spent by the local authority on repairs.

Martin Conway says there’s a constant need for investment in these areas.
