A decision on the future of St Joseph’s Hospital in Ennis is due to be made in the coming month.
The HSE has until the end of 2021 to bring all of it’s buildings in line with new regulations, but the health service fears that works on the existing site would prove too costly and displace other services.
HSE MIdwest is considering whether a new site would be more appropriate, and a final decision is to be made within the coming four weeks.
