The CEO of Ennis Chamber admits there’s ‘deep concern’ among the business community about reducing footfall in the town.

The comments come as calls continue to grow from Ennis businesses for the immediate lifting of the temporary pedestrianisation measures in the town centre.

As it stands, the six-day-a-week road closures are poised to remain in place in the town centre until next May, though Council officials have committed to reviewing this over the coming weeks.

Margaret O Brien says businesses are concerned about the impact of pedestrianisation heading into the winter.
