Gardaí in Clare are reporting over 20 road accidents this morning due to icy conditions in many areas.
Minor road collisions have occurred on the main Ennis to Limerick Dual carriageway with the areas around Shannon, Bunratty and Cratloe worst affected.
Problem areas have also been reported on the main Ennis to Ennistymon road at Kilnamona and on the main Ennis to Kilrush Road.
In West Clare, gardaí are warning of icy conditions on many of the secondary stretches including around Knockerra, Kilmihil and on the Killkee Road out of Kilrush.
Roads around Shannon are passable but again drivers are urged to slow down and drive with extreme caution due to the freezing conditions following overnight showers.
