More Than €5.5m Announced For Water Services At Clare Housing Estates

Almost 5.5 million euro in Government funding has been announced for water services at a number of housing estates in Clare.

It’s part of a 14.7 million euro allocation announced by Housing Minister, Darragh O’Brien, under a multi-annual capital investment programme, which aims to to connect developer provided water services to the public Uisce Éireann network.

Funding of 5.2 million euro has been awarded to Clare County Council for services in the Ballyglass, Castlebank, Lackyle, Lackyle Heights, Parkroe and Keelgrove areas in Ardnacrusha.

While close to 200,000 euro has also been earmarked for the Glenn Abhainn Estate in Meelick.

The Department says these projects can get underway immediately and connect to Uisce Éireann network, resolving DIP issues for households in those areas.

Meelick Fianna Fáil TD Cathal Crowe says thanks to the new arrangement, residents can go directly to Uisce Éireann in the event of a water-related issues.
