East Clare Candidates To Abandon Postering Ahead Of Elections

Sitting councillors in East Clare say they will forego election posters as part of their campaigning in this year’s local elections.

They join Ennis councillors in abandoning postering this year, which has been hotly debated in the council chambers since the New Year.

While it was agreed that bye-laws couldn’t be introduced to ban postering outright, many of those seeking re-election felt it would be better for the environment not to put any up this time around.

Sixmilebridge Fianna Fáil Councillor Alan O’Callaghan is encouraging any new candidates in the Killaloe Municipal District to join them in their ban:
