East Clare TD Insists Road Upgrade Funding “Not A Magic Wand”

An East Clare TD insists funding for upgrade works on rural roads is “not a magic wand”.

Minister for Rural and Community Development Heather Humphreys has announced almost €16 million in funding under the Local Improvement Scheme spread across all counties except Dublin and Kildare, with Clare receiving an allocation of €770,000.

This brings the total amount Clare has received under the scheme this year to just under €1.4 million and Minister Humphries has encouraged each local authority to use its allocation to tackle the backlog of funding applications submitted under the scheme.
