Two Clare groups have been granted funding under the Scheme of Community Support for Older People
Cratloe Community Council has been given almost three thousand euro in funds, while 666 euro has been given to Kilkee Community Alert.
The scheme allows community groups to assist the elderly with the purchase of security devices such as personal alert alarms, smoke detectors and security lighting.
The groups are among 30 bodies to have been awarded money under the latest round of funding for the scheme, which has handed out over 1 million euro nationwide in 2010.
