Electric Vehicle Sales Continue To Decline In Clare As Petrol And Diesel Gain

Electric vehicle sales have declined for the seventh successive month in Clare.

The latest figures from the Society of the Irish Motor Industry show there were 154 new car registrations here in August.

Of these, 55 were Diesel engines and 37 petrol, representing a 3 and 5% rise on sales from the same month of 2023 last year respectively, however the 18 electric vehicle sales recorded marks a drop of 62.5% in that category.
