Motorists are being urged to drive with care this morning following persistent rain.
Emergency services were called to a road crash on the northbound lane of the M18, between Crusheen and Barefield, shortly after 8’clock this morning, after car hit the central barrier.
One lane of the road was closed for a time but has since re-opened.
There are no reports of injuries.
It comes as a low level yellow weather warning remains in place for Clare for the coming four days as the tail end of Storm Ophelia makes its way towards Ireland.
