Emergency Services Dealing With N68 Collision Near Kilrush

Emergency services are currently dealing with a serious road traffic collision on the N68 on the outskirts of Kilrush this evening.

The crash occurred shortly before 8.00pm at Moyadda More on the Ennis side of Kilrush. It’s understood that a car and a van were involved.

Units of Clare County Fire and Rescue Service from Kilrush station responded to the incident along with National Ambulance Service paramedics and Gardaí.

The Shannon-based Irish Coast Guard helicopter, Rescue 115, was also tasked to the scene and was able to land in a field close to the incident.

It’s understood that one person has been airlifted to University Hospital Galway for treatment.

A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services are attending the scene of a road traffic collision which occurred at around 8pm this evening in Kilrush, Co. Clare.

Local diversions are currently in place.”
