Emergency services deal with two collisions on M18 amid wintry conditions

Emergency services from two counties responded to separate collisions on the M18 this afternoon.

A single-vehicle collision was reported on the motorway south of Gort at around 2.30pm.

Two units of the fire brigade from Gort were sent to the incident along with an ambulance an Gardaí from Ennis.

Three units of the fire service from Ennis were also mobilised to the collision.

 

 

On arrival at the scene, fire personnel from Gort noticed another incident in the northbound lanes a short distance away.

Gardaí and fire crews travelling to the original call stopped to deal with the second collision which involved two cars.

One person was removed to hospital from the first incident while there were no injuries reported in the other collision.

Both incidents occurred during or after a heavy downpour of hail with all three cars involved skidded of the road.
