An Ennis based retail lobby group is calling on the new government to ensure jobs in the industry are protected.
Retail Excellence Ireland has launched an 8 point plan aimed at supporting the 280,000 people currently working in retail in Ireland.
It includes a review of taxes, particularly the VAT rate, as well calls for more resources to tackle crime and the revival of town centres.
