Ennis Councillor ‘Not Happy’ With Local Air Quality Monitoring

An Ennis Councillor says he’s ‘not happy’ with the current system for monitoring air quality levels in the county town.

The Environmental Protection Agency allows areas to breach certain levels 35 times a year, with Ennis not having reached that number in 2022.

However, concern continues to be expressed about the high levels of pollution being recorded during the winter time in the town, particularly in the Drumbiggle area.

 

Ennis-based Fine Gael Councillor Johnny Flynn is proposing to implement a system that warns residents when air quality is poor.
