Ennis Haulier Says €18.7m Funding Boost Welcome For Those In Recession

The Clare-based President of the Irish Road Haulage Association has described the announcement of 18.7 million euro in funding as a welcome boost for those in the sector who are now in recession.

Junior Transport Minister Hildegarde Naughton has announced an extension of the haulier support scheme into next year, to help lorry drivers with high fuel costs triggered by the war in Ukraine.

It will see an additional 1,200 euro provided per heavy goods vehicle, in an effort to help ensure businesses remain viable and Ireland’s supply chains remain operational.

 

Ennis haulier, Eugene Drennan says it will make a big difference at a time when some businesses are really struggling.
