The Mayor of Ennis has branded this week’s violent scenes outside Ennis Cathedral as totally intolerable and totally unacceptable.
A 16 year old was hospitalised after a row broke out while members of the travelling community attended a wedding at the church on Thursday.
Gardai recovered several weapons including a slash hook and a pickaxe handle- and later arrested two men after a van was damaged in the Mayville Housing Estate – officers believe both incidents may be linked.
