New figures from the Road Safety Authority show just over 70 per cent of those who sat their driving test in the county town last year passed, the second highest rate in the country.

While, between 2010 and 2013, Ennis topped the table, with more than 68 per cent granted their full licence during that period.

Kilrush also had a high success rate in 2015, with just under 62 per cent passing, but in contrast, the figures for Shannon were below average compared to the rest of the country, with only 47.1 per cent of applicants successful.
