Ennis Parents Of Child With Coffin-Siris Syndrome Claim No Guidance Available

The Ennis-based parents of a child with a rare neurological condition claim there is no guidance available for people in their situation.

Eddie and Emma Mulqueen’s 10-year-old son Faodhán (fay-din) suffers from Coffin-Siris syndrome which is a disorder caused by a chromosome abnormality and results in reduced cognitive function.

It’s believed there are around 10 cases of the disorder in Ireland while in 2015, it was estimated that there were approximately 200 worldwide.

Faodhán’s mother Emma has revealed that given the rarity of his condition, they were left with nowhere to turn to for support up until recently.
