The ESB say while they have made significant progress in restoring supply in county Clare, around 3400 people are still without power.
The figure stood at over 6000 as they began works this morning.
The Ennis North area remains the worst affected but faults are still affecting Clarecastle, Sixmilebridge and Cratloe, in West Clare, Kilrush Kilkee and Kilbaha 300 people are still without power, while the Ennistymon area including Lahinch and Lisdoonvarna see's approximately 500 customers still in the dark.
ESB crews are continuing to work on the faults but Seamus Grey ESB Production Support Manager for the MidWest, says some people could be without power again tonight.
