The public are being warned to avoid the serious dangers of swimming at an East Clare reservoir this weekend.
ESB has issued an urgent safety appeal, imploring people to avoid entering the waters of Ardnacrusha Power Plant.
Clear signage is in place to prevent people from mistakenly enter the reservoir, which the utility says is not suitable for swimming due it’s deep fast-flowing waters, changing water levels and uneven ground.
Senior Manager of Hydro Operations at ESB Martin Stronge says it’s vital their warnings are heeded.
