The latest CSO figures, which reflect data from house sales that were executed in February, shows 28 of the homes sold that month were in areas that fall under the V95 Ennis Eircode routing key.

Five more were sold in the V15 Kilrush Eircode area, and a further 19 were sold in other parts of the county that fall under the Galway and Limerick Eircode keys.

The total number – 52 – is back by 40 when compared with the same month last year, and marks the lowest number of homes sold in February since 2013.

In West Clare, the price paid for a typical home was the same as the year before, at 156 thousand euro, while for the Ennis area the typical price fell to 181,250 euro.

With low numbers of homes changing hands, however, this change may not be statistically relevant.

18 of the 52 homes were sold to first-time buyers.
