An Irishman is among those feared trapped in a collapsed building in Christchurch, after Tuesday’s earthquake.

The Department of Foreign Affairs says he is one of two people they’ve had serious concerns about since the disaster happened.

It’s understood the man was in the Pinegould Guinness building when the quake hit.

He’s been living in New Zealand with his wife and family.

The death toll from the earthquake so far has now risen to 98, with grave concerns expressed by police for a further 226.
